Help Eradicate Social Networking Disease

About six months ago I bailed out of LinkedIn and Plaxo. Ironically, I started out enthusiastic about LinkedIn and Plaxo. For a while I was on a tear to capture “first place” as a Santa Barbara person with the most LinkedIn contacts.

Then a funny thing happened. I noticed that suddenly, I WAS Number One. But I achieved that dubiouis distinction by deafult. Three A-List people ahead of me on LinkedIn simply DROPPED OUT.

I asked myself, “Self, how does LinkedIn (or Plaxo) make my life better?” It was a short conversation. When I discovred a link about how to get Plaxo and LinkedIn to scrub out your data (it’s not simple), I executed my exit strategy.

As you’ll see from this link, I’m not alone in curing my own “social networking” disease.
