VERIZON is my wired (also wireless and DSL) phone company. People seem to love to hate The Phone Company but I am in LOVE with Verizon, for a serious yet semi-silly reason. A couple of weeks ago I realized Verizon now offers a new DSL plan that delivers 3 Megabits per second downstream. I called their 800 number, and had a friendly interaction with (gasp!) someone who knew what they wer etalking about. They did attempt to switch me from DISH Networks to Direct TV, but the numbers don’t make sense in my situation. About a week later I received an email telling me the DSL bandwidth change to 3Mbps had been made.
Peter Cooper created a web service Snippets. It’s a cool place where folks who write code can easily contribute and or borrow code snippets from others. The category structure uses tags, not unlike del.icio.us, a free CLOUD BASED personal bookmarking service. For a poor example, you can glance at my rat’s nest of links.
I’ve watched the Dave Winer/Adam Currey train wreck happening. The article sounds reasonably fair and balanced to me (but in a good way).
Yesterday I visited my favorite mall, Amazon, to purchase a book by Loring Wirbel. That task took maybe 45 seconds. Then it began.
Dear Rev. AKMA and Ms. Sessums,
Against my better judgment (it’s always suspect)
I have purchased this book by AKMA from Amazon:
What Is Postmodern Biblical Criticism? (Guides to Biblical Scholarship New Testament Series)
by A. K. M. Adam
Dear Rev. AKMA,
(I am CCing Jeneane Sessum because she (I think) also admires your work, not to mention that she’s a fabulous writer, if much less reverent than you.)
Last weekend I purchased an iRiver 899 MP3 player. It’s rather cool (see my Bliss Machine blog entry below). So far really enjoy thi slittle jewel of an MP3 palyer with voice recording and an FM radio.
I bought my first MP3 player last weekend. It’s an iRiver 899, a physically small (I’d say “cute”) player with one gig of flash memeory that records voice using a built in or external mic, and can record other audio sources via a line in interface. There’s also FM radio, which can be recorded.
I am experimenting with Yahoo360 for three reasons.
1) Yahoo has some seriously smart people, e.g. Jeremy Zawadny. If he had anything to do with Yahoo360, I am interested. If not, I am still interested.
