BellSouth Broadband
Om Malik is a consistently interesting commentator on all things broadband. His analysis of how BellSouth is rolling out broadband is on point. Om doesn’t mention that BellSouth will use IP delivered over gigabit Ethernet in their newest service rollout.
Using Ethernet and IP in the telco access network was considered crazy and revolutionary when Occam Networks was launched in early 2000. Five years later IP over Ethernet is mainstream.

I saw that you have a page that discusses patent-related resources at http://blog.karuturi.org/. I wanted to suggest adding http://www.freepatentsonline.com to the page. This web site has free PDF downloading (instead of having to page through TIFFs like at the US PTO). It is by far the best free patent searching site.
