7/7

“7/7″, today’s tragic attacks in London, joins “9/11″ (New York) and “4/11″ (Madrid) as another defining moment for our time. The coverage of this horrific London event was blog-centric, witness this article by the Wall Street Journal.

Our hearts go out to the victims.

Since more died in the Madrid bombing, why isn’t 4/11 as much a part of the lexicon as 9/11 or 7/7? Is it because it was one big site instead of many distributed sites, or maybe because of the UK/US “special relationship” and the WASPier nature of the victims this week? (7/7 will always be a defining moment in my life, since it’s my daughter’s birthday.)
