A VC on Feed Challenges
Don’t you hate it when you discover somebody else has secretly sucked ideas out of your head and written them down?
To be more precise, I’m less enthusiastic that Fred Wilson about Longhorn as The Answer. And I’m not convinced his current workaround to Feed Overload would work for me.
But just last night I threw in the towel, and told Bloglines to mark all feeds as read. After making coffee this morning, about eight hours after starting with a fresh sheet of feed paper, I find 158 updated feeds.
Maybe the content in my current 681 feeds is simply too much for one human being to skim? Maybe, but for now I feel ithat assertion is an attack on my intellectual manhood. Scoble at Microsoft claim to skim well over 1,000 feeds. He (like me) does it nights and weekends. He (unlike me) seems to have also have life.
Scoble either reads a lot faster than me, or one of us is Truth Challenged.
Anyway, I have ideas on how to deal with Feed Mania. Mine differ from Mr. Wilson’s solution. Sorry, I’m not ready to share ‘em yet. When I am, you probably will NOT be the first to know. Enough said?
