A Torrent of Advice

I’ve been meaning to learn how to use the peer-to-peer file sharing protocol BitTorrent. But the one or two times I managed to spend five minutes trying to get rolling I just didn’t grok the client. But now there’s hope.

I hereby share this BitTorrent “How-To” link with you. I am convinced I should be able to make this puppy work. Please let me know if you get there first.

BitTorrent isn’t the problem. Windows applications suck. Get a Macintosh and use “Bits on Wheels” for grabbing (and uploading) all your torrents without a learning curve.

    Jim,
Bless you, you pointy head Mac-bigot!

The Mac is your hammer, and everything in sight is a nail.

For those looking to learn more about BitTorrent in general, the first book ever about BitTorrent just came out. It’s BitTorrent for Dummies, ISBN 076459981X, (Amazon http://tinyurl.com/e4xp3).

There’s a companion Web site that’s growing up into a substantial resource about BitTorrent: http://www.BitTorrentForDummies.com/ It’s a news hub, a how-to and a book update, all in one.

    Just thought I’d share.
