A friend writes about his experience so far with the Nokia 770 Internet widget:
I pre-ordered it [Nokia 770] on November 14th. They said it would ship the 17th. Then they said by the end of the month. Then maybe Dec 14th. I’m guessing I’ll get it toward the end of January. [snip]
Without apology, here’s some MORE interesting information about the LassloMail application. You can’t tell I’m fascinated with my exploration of this approach to delivering a rich user experience over the Internet.
The Sydney Morning Herald has a fascinating article about Cloud, a game that evokes emotion. Go. Read the article. Check out this game. Do it. Now.
Intel is not satisfied with their dominant market share in personal computers. Their next goal is to make a serious run at home entertainment. That means your next TV (sometime in 2006) will have Intel Inside if you want some very cool new features.
Andy Warhol said “In the future everyone will be world-famous for fifteen minutes.”
You should look at Cloudal Partners and Jewlboxing. Both are cleanly designed sites. I understand Jewlboxing (clever, premium CD/DVD cases). I am puzzled by Cloudal, not sure I completely get it, but somehow know it’s worth your time. Or maybe not.
I hate to admit defeat, but my experiment with trying the World of Warcraft (WoW) Massively Multiplayer Online Game is about to end.
If this information is factual, Microsoft’s Vista system may prove to be a lot less attractive than may assumed. Or should I say “hoped” or more precisely… “hyped”?).
My LaszloMail experiment is continuing. Since it uses Flash to render the screen display (at least that’s what I think it does) I decided to upgrade to Flash 8, the latest and greatest version. I think it makes this puppy (LasloMail) run faster, but don’t ask me why. I’ll have to do a little digging to understand the apparent performance improvement.
This article about 98 little known “Run” commands is cool. It describes shorthand so you can make stuff happen, quickly, command line style. You know what I’m talking about. Click on the Windows START button, then select RUN, then type, oh, hmmm, how about cleanmgr to clean up your temp files and other disk space hogging trash. [via tech.memeorandum]
Did you know that more people (97.3 percent) have the Macromedia Flash player installed than, say Adobe Acrobat Reader (88.8 pct.), or Microsoft Windows Media Player (84.8 pct.)? Those factoids surprised me.
