Laszlo Mail
While I’m very happy (as in “in love!”) with Google mail (Gmail), I keep my eyes open. Today I signed up with LaszloMail. I’ve been following Open Laszlo, because it’s a mildly interesting attempt at creating an open source rich client. So what better way to check it out than to experiment with a Laszlo mail client?
I just got started this evening. The sign-up process is not too bad, and the client download is painless.
LaszloMail has a clever interface, with a lot more traditional email goodies than Gmail. Since I have refused to try the new Yahoo (nee Oddpost) email (well, nobody invited me, but you know what I mean), how ironic is it that I chase after another woman I mean email client?
I’ve also been boycotting the new Ajax-y Hotmail replacement Microsoft is cooking up. To be more direct, nobody invited me to that party either, but that’s OK. They probably know I am married (to Gmail) and simply are showing respect for my unwillingness to chase very cute new email client in town.
So I will keep you informed about Laszlo. This is purely a physical affair, this is not love.
Not yet.

You’re just infatuated with the chance to win an iPod in the current Open Lazlo contest.
