Microsoft’s Ruby on Rails

Microsoft should immediately launch a well-funded major initiative to accelerate the success of Ruby on Rails (RoR).

Sun and IBM have dumped gazllions of dollars into Java and associated tools. Java has not failed outright, but it fall short of What Might Have Been. As a guidance counselor might put it, “Java is not achieving its potential.”

So why should Bill Gates and Ray Ozzie back Ruby on Rails? Because it has struck a nerve with leading edge web designer. If Microsoft wants to get its groove on (terrible pun) a huge fast innovative push with RoR would get the world’s attention.

Who cares if Microsoft already has three or four other ways to solve similar problems. Let the market decide.
