Sarah Allen describes the development process Laszlo Systems used to release the (excellent!) LaszloMail hosted web application. Her article is worth reading just for the excellent (and crisp!) definition of bug severity.
As an early beta user of LaszloMail, I have been blown away by the excellence of their support. I haven’t found that many bugs, and they never remain open for long. It happens to also be an exceptionally clean yet powerful design for web mail.
The LasloMail team treats beta users as colleagues. The industry big guys could all take lessons from Sarah and her team. If Google, Yahoo or Microsoft were half as smart and savvy as generally thought, they would FORCE Sarah Allen to come and work for them starting January 2.
She’s that good.
