Desktop 3D Scanner: $2K
A friend who attended the recent Solidworks conference mentioned this Desktop 3D scanner that will sell for only $2,000.
This very cool device allows instant input to Solidworks (one of the leading 3D design tools). It can handle any shape or complexity that’s under a foot in size. The captured scan (data) in Solidworks has full functionality for change. The resolution is .005 inches of accuracy.
This 3D scanner combined with stereo lithography instant prototype technology will allow physical objects to be captured, modified and then cloned in a few hours.
I guess I need to crack open my new Solidworks for Dummies book.
