T42 Fire Confirmed

My “secrets” are safe with you, my trusted and TIGHT LIPPED readers. As first reported a January 14, I have confirmed that two users of the (excellent!) IBM T42 experienced fires while doing a long compile of Linux source code. Yes, the CPU fan failed, as we speculated.

Skype: 5 Million Online

Peter Macaulay points out that Skype is showing over 5 million online users today. I saw that earlier today, although at 7:25pm Pacific there are “only” 3,082,792 users online. That’s a lot of VoIP users…

OS X on IBM T42

A friend just showed me OS X running on an IBM T42 laptop. Apparently a developer version leaked out that was tweaked to run on some but not all non-Apple hardware. This hacked version is not production ready, but as a proof of concept it’s pretty interesting.

I am skeptical whether I will adopt Microsoft Vista, the “next Windows” after XP.

Gmail Delete Button
