Bird Flu Spreads
Add Germany, Iran and Austria to the growing list of countries where H5N1 avian flu has been detected in birds or chickens.
H5N1 has not mutated (yet) to allow the disease to spread human to human. But the wider the virus spreads to millions of birds in many locations, the greater the chance a random mutation could trigger a pandemic. Or not. We could get lucky.
Are you feeling lucky? Does your company have a pandemic plan? The big guys such as Microsoft are taking the pandemic threat seriously. Our USA government is making some progress, but it’s still modest. Should the worst happen, things would quickly get ugly.
