Winer’s Blog Suicide Note?

I’m usually too busy to dabble in pro bono remote psychological analysis. What with my day job, my personal life and this little “hobby blog,” I’m one busy guy.

But enough about me. Let’s decode Dave Winer’s Blog Suicide Note. A tsunami of electrons has been unleashed talking about this odd outburst by the [brilliant, creative, moody, self-centered, egotistical, often cantankerous] Dave Winer.

Here are a couple of Winer discussions by Stowe Boyd.

Some fear the worst. They speculate that Dave’s “Blog Suicide” message may be a cry for help. That’s a flawed (if intriguing…) interpretation. But it’s wrong.

My remote psychological profiling service has uncovered a far more interesting, and — depending on your point of view– more troubling reason for the Winer Proclamation.

I have $20 that says Dave Winer has fallen in love. If my premise is true (it may not be..) Dave really has no choice. His mystery girl friend may simply refuse to play second fiddle to Scripting News.

The Jeffries Winer Hypothesis is a powerful explanation for Winer’s recent behavioral changes. But there’s something we all need to think about.

Is the world ready for one or more Little Dave Winers?

Don’t let your babies grow up to be bloggers…

As I commented… um… somewhere else.. if he’s going to quit his blog, why doesn’t he just, ya know, quit his blog.

    Why all the hoo-haa? Talk about self-aggrandisising (if that’s a word…)

I agree with Gordon. Just do what Mark Pilgrim did. Sign off and leave the building already.

Traces of Mark can be found here and there around the net, which is a good thing. Dave should do the same.

  3. Anonymous this time Says:

I heard he’s going to adopt a child.

$100 to the one who convinces him to name the kid, Rogers.
