Ron K. Jeffries Orders a Treo 700p
After almost two years of dithering, today I ordered a Treo 700p.
I wanted the Motorola Q so much. But ultimately, my seven years of mainly positive experience with the Palm, plus the Palm-friendly IT staff here at work made the decision for me.
Why should I try to swim upstream?
I tried to get excited about Microsoft’s Windows Mobile for Smartphone OS. I know I could have tolerated it. But life is too short to tolerate the environment you’ll use to make a gazillion phone calls, never mind read/write a few emails and do some instant messaging.
With my luck, a fabulous Linux based QWERTY phone will be released tomorrow.
Oh well.

Well of course there are Linux phones coming. Read today’s WSJ article at .
Be at peace with your decision, Ron. You made the right choice for your situation, especially as your IT department will bend over backwards to help ensure a smooth user experience.
Sincere congratulations!
