Treo 700p Day 2
After my first 24 hours with the Treo 700p, I have two applications up and running. ChatterEmail is my IMAP savvy email client, while IM Plus just now came to life on the AOL IM network.
ChatterEmail has been superb. There was one funny and embarassing bit. When I got to the point of seeing the main ChatterEmail screen, I couldn’t figure out how to add an email account.
I was totally baffled. After almost seven years using a Palm, tapping in the upper left corner no longer gives me a menu.
They were very polite when they wrote to tell me to press the Treo’s “menu key.” They did not say “why didn’t you read the Treo manual, you idiot?”
I’ll share more after I am more familiar with these apps.
On a related note, the co-worker who had decided to buythe Motorola Q changed his mind after a touch and feel session. I don’t know the details yet, but he selected the Teo 700p instead of the slick cool, ultra-thin Moto Q.
Moto should do a Linux version of the Q. But they need to add a touch screen.
