Update: Jeffries Mideast Peace Plan and Israel II
An (anonymous) Cloudy Thinking reader stimulated these enhancements to The Jeffries Mideast Peace Plan.
Israelis claim a right of historical connection to the Mideast, especially Jerusalem. To gain acceptance the plan will require another $100 Million to move the Wailing Wall, and other key historical elements from the Holy Land to the new Israel II in North America.
This is technologically feasible. Chainsaw magnate Robert McCulloch moved the 140-year old London Bridge to the Arizona desert.

Nowadays, the London Bridge is one of Arizona’s biggest attractions. Lake Havasu City has golf courses, affordable homes and a winter population of retired folks in Winnebagos. It’s even got a Wal-Mart just a few blocks north of the bridge.
Think of the tourist attraction of Holy Land, North America. The spending by tourists visiting these sacred artifacts would greatly offset some of the costs.
One would assume the Disney Corporation would be selected to manage these facilities.
Not only will the Israelis in the new, North American location take care of any US/Mexico border issues, the flow of drugs into the USA will completely stop, at least on the Arizona, New Mexico and Texas route.
The new location of Israel provides substantial cost savings. When the US sells military equipment (using US funded aid dollars) transportation costs form US factories will be greatly reduced. The military material can go by rail or truck, saving expensive aviation fuel and the cost of return of crews by commercial air travel.
The (awesome) Israeli intelligence organization, once re-located to North America, will be more accessible by the US Central Intelligence Agency, National Security Agency, FBI and Defense Intelligence Agency.
Some might argue the Jeffries plan is too modest. It is not unreasonable to extend the proposed Israel II beyond the original geographic scope (Arizona, New Mexico and Texas).
To eliminate the requirment to build the (horribly expensive) George W Bush Memorial Illegal Alien Wall, Israel II should also encompass California counties that share a border with Mexico.
The revised Jeffries plan adds Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
The post-Katrina rebuilding effort in the Gulf areas will be handled with dispatch by Israel II. Here again there is a significant economic advantage. Billions of Katrina aid would also serve as aid to Israel.
Can somebody get me through to The Decider?
I am a modest individual. I would be delighted to rename my plan as Bush Doctrine II.
