Morfik Rich Internet Applications That Also Run Offline

Richard MacManus writes about Morfik, an AJAX-y platform for developing visually rich internet applications that can also run while not connected to the Internet.

Several companies are chasing this web presentation space: Adobe (Apollo/Flex), Microsoft (Windows Presentation Foundation), Google (Google Web Toolkit) and Laszlo Systems (Open Laszlo).

According to MacManus, Morfik is distinguished form the rest of the gang by a few things. First, it is a pure AJAX solution, and does not leverage Flash as several others do. Second, the developer can write in any high level language and Morfik will compile it down into JavaScript that uses their platform.

Their major claim to fame is the platform is designed to support offline applications that run while the user i snot connected to the Internet.

May the best platform win.
