Anne Zelenka on Goggle’s Gmail
Anne Zelenka responds to the PC Magazine review of web email offerings which dissed Gmail.
As a rabid Gmail enthusiast, I agree with Anne that PC Magazine got it wrong. Gmail is different. You don’t fuss with folders, you search. Just like we do on the Internets.
I recently looked at the new Yahoo mail that looks and acts a lot like Outlook. If that’s what you want, great. But if you have not yet tried Gmail’s “Search, don’t sort” you are missing one of life’s great pleasures.
As a footnote, there was a time when LaszloMail looked promising. But they’ve moved o to developing other applications, so it is what it is, making it — unfortunately — a non-starter i n this tough web mail neighborhood.
