Adam Curry: Time Spent Engaged (TSE)
Adam Curry writes about Media 2.0 where he coins the term “Time spent engaged.”
Adams thoughtful essay was stimulated by a Dave Winer piece (very readable, and funny).
You have to wish that these two pioneers could just get along. [grin] In may ways the two each have strengths that other one sorely lacks. Winer has technical creativity and brilliance, while Curry is artistically creative and a marketing genius.
Anyhow, Adam Curry says:
As the media industry moves from tracking ‘uniques’ to measuring TSE (Time Spent Engaged) the next 5 billion dollars spent on advertising will be from brands who are looking for an audience with their customer.
As we turn the corner from ‘podcasting’ to Media 2.0, tracking relevance will simply not be enough, creating relevance is the future.
