Matthew Mullenweg, WordPress founder, on “overnight” sucesss
Matthew Mullenweg, WordPress founder, writes about a meaningful overnight relationship.
For someone so well-known so young, Matt has a wonderful sense of humility.
As a happy WordPress user, I say “Thanks, Matt. You be da man.”
For the record, my first blog, back in the day, used MoveableType as a platform.
What Matt graciously does not say but we all know, is that MoveableType made a monstrous screw-up when they switched to a paid model. That misguided decision and how it was implemented plus onerous terms and conditions created an opening for a new contender.
WordPress arose out of that gaffe by the market leader in blog software. The rest is history. MoveableType still exists, but WordPress has become the most popular blogging platform.
