GameRail Version 2 — lower, more consistent PING times

The GamRail service is still a free beta. If you are a hard-core PC gamer, you care.

A friend writes:

Version 2 of the GameRail client was released last week. They are now seeing big drops (big for gamers) in lag time or latency. Some users are 60 down to 45 ms, others are 45 down to 30 ms.

More importantly, the lag time is more consistent. So rather than +/1 10 ms for the PING times it is more like +/1 2 ms. For a gamer that translates to a smoother “feel” during Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPG).
