One Response to “Linus Torvalds on Why C Rocks and C++ Sucks”
I never much liked C++ either, but I chalked that up to (1) I had not had a chance to do much C++ programming, and (2) possibly an old-dog-new-trick (ODNT) issue. I disliked C++ for much the same reason that I disliked Java: both just seemed unnecessarily ‘wordy’ and convoluted. Now I’ve had a chance to do a bit more C++ programming, and I have not yet found any reason to change my views. And Linus’s comments give me some confidence that maybe it’s not just an ODNT issue, either.
I still have to write a lot of C++ code in the months ahead anyway.
