Disqus — Exceptional Customer Support
Today I opened a ticket at Disqus, where I outsource my bg comment handling. My issue: I comments were not showing up on my recent post Mike Arrington Owns Gillmore & Gangp. I receved an email reply within ten minutes or so. And it was not a canned response, it was specific to my issue.
They asked me a question, which I answered. They came back within an hour explaining the “problem” and how they fixed it.
The cause: ME. I originally mis-spelled Steve Gillor’s name. Dave Winer graciously (thanks Dave!) pointed out my mistake (which was also in the headline), so quick like a bunny, I edited the headline, ans also edited the “post slug” the internal tage Wordpress uses to build the URL for a post.
Since I effectively changed the URL by editing the “post slug”, Disqus lost track, as it was looking for the the original URL with the incorrect original spelling.
It’s all fixed now.
It’s rare to experience customer service this responsive and effective. Kudos to the Disqus team!
