Oxford Archaeology — Early Experience with Freerunner Mobile and OpenMoko “ASU” (April software release)
Joseph Reeves of Oxford Archaeology writes about early experiences using the Freerunner mobile phone running a pre-realease version of the OpenM0oko system.
Freerunner with OpenMoko software is a pure Linux “free and open software” smart GSM phone with Wi-Fi, GPS, VGA resolution display and two accelerometers. While Freerunner software is still a bit raw, this computing platform has tremendous potential. Compared with the iPhone, Freerunner is an order of magnitude more open.
