Does on-demand HD video mean Netflicks is becoming irrelevant?

A friend writes: “Netflix is so 90’s. HD video on demand is where its at. No bad disks.”

With upgraded HD Cox cable i can download on demand for $2-4 a pop. Netflix DVDs ended up just sitting around. I don’t watch much TV and new HD channels are great.

My Playstation 3 plays the 1080i videos I make on my Sony HiDef video cam. The quality is incredible, but editing is very time consuming compared to stills. I can burn dvd on my computer in AVCHD format that plays in the PS3 drive. I upgraded to a Samsung 46 inch 1080p LCD / 120 Mhtz screen.

Every the populist gentleman, he concludes thusly:

I hope gasoline goes up to $10 a gallon. It’s nice to see the poor people get off the roads, so we have much less traffic.
