Redfly + Palm Treo = Useful

This review of the Redfly semi-netbook makes it sound pretty useful. The Redfly uses a Treo as it’s brain (CPU) and network connection.

They’ve cut the Redfly price to $199 which starts to get interesting.

But I have a different idea. Why can’t I buy a netbook that makes it dead easy to use my Treo as an EVDO modem over (say) bluetooth?

If it’s OK for Redfly to connect to the mobile network, why not any old netbook? I’d be OK with a restriction that says “no video streaming.”
