After almost two years of dithering, today I ordered a Treo 700p.
I wanted the Motorola Q so much. But ultimately, my seven years of mainly positive experience with the Palm, plus the Palm-friendly IT staff here at work made the decision for me.
My two year quest for a perfect QWERTY Phone has devolved into the lesser task of deciding on an acceptable device.
I tried to visit the Verizon Wireless site this evening. I wanted to learn if the Palm Treo 700p is available in my area.

Today, June 5, 2006 I played with the Motorola Q for a few minutes at my local Verizon. The Santa Barbara, CA store received 20 Qs on Friday, and near end of day Monday ten were already sold.

Today is May 31, 2006. I called my Verizon store and asked if they had the Motorola Q. In a word, “No.” They put my name on a list so I’ll be notified when the Q does show up. I did weasel out of the sales rep that — so far — there’s no waiting list for the phone.
